The beaches on Bonaire are plentiful and the entire shoreline is available for diving. In the south you can drive your truck to within a few feet of the water’s edge. Look for the famous yellow marker rocks, park, swim, dive, snorkel and relax. If you see yellow rock, even at the entrance to a hotel or what looks like private property, it means it is a public beach and site. The palm lined beach at the exclusive Harbour Village is solely for condo owners and guests. Lac Bay, on the east coast, is world famous for its windsurfing. Go and sit on the beach or have lunch at Jibe City or The Place and watch the best windsurfers in the world show why they are world champions. You ca rent beach chairs and all the wind surfing equipment or take a lesson. If you want to watch the windsurfers without getting sand on your feet go to Kon Tiki restaurant for some great food, an idyllic view and windsurfers on the water. If you are a kite boarder or just love to sit on the beach and watch their dare devil and dazzling moves, go to Atlantis on the west coast south end of the island.
